Duck Rillettes tartines and Gherkins
A simple and rustic French appetizer. Toasted bread with duck rillettes and tangy gherkins.

| 4 slices | Rustic country bread or baguette |
| 120 g | Duck rillettes |
| 4–6 | Gherkins (cornichons), thinly sliced |
| To taste | Freshly cracked black pepper |

Preparation
1. Toast the bread
- Lightly brush each bread slice with duck fat or olive oil.
- Toast until golden and crisp on both sides.
2. Spread the rillettes
- Let the bread cool slightly, then spread a generous layer of Maison Saint Léonard duck rillettes.
3. Add the gherkins
- Place thin slices of gherkins on top to bring brightness and crunch.
4. Season and finish
- Sprinkle with black pepper and fresh herbs.
- Optionally drizzle a few drops of duck fat for extra richness.
5. Chef’s note
Serve these tartines slightly warm, with a glass of dry white wine or a light red.
They’re perfect for an apéro, brunch, or quick snack.
